Along with faux, trompe l'oiel, textures and other fancy treatments, the Dixons excel in all aspects of wood-finishing. They dark-stained and varnished nine fir doors for us, among which was a 96-year old, arched front door (upper left on the Queen Anne door poster) that required filling and graining mortise holes to match the wood. The door engenders lots of compliments. The Dixons are artists with endless tricks of the trade.
